MSJ Connect was created to be a space where every student feels welcome, accepted, and valued. It was designed for students who may feel out of place, who haven’t found their people yet, or who need a place where they can belong. At its core, MSJ Connect is about building community and making sure no student feels alone.
The program also recognizes the importance of movement and being active. With busy schedules filled with homework and responsibilities, the value of exercise can easily be overlooked. MSJ Connect encourages students to move their bodies, play, and spend time outdoors, knowing that physical activity and fresh air have a powerful impact on overall wellness. Most importantly, it provides a space where kids can relax, have fun, and just be kids.

Last year, MSJ Connect ran for 30 straight weeks and continues to grow. With Mr. Pope’s support, the program expanded further when Mr. Rhoden and Ms. Nester joined the team, enabling Connect to reach more students and offer more opportunities. When students asked for more football, Mr. Pope and Mr. Rhoden listened and responded, leading to the creation of Football Fridays.

Together, Football Fridays and MSJ Connect foster a strong sense of community. They give students a place to connect, build friendships, stay active, and feel a true sense of belonging. MSJ Connect is more than a club; it is a supportive environment where students can connect, grow, and thrive.
