With the 2025 NFL season just starting, one big question on every football fan’s mind is who will be this season’s MVP. One of the more obvious choices is the reigning MVP, Josh Allen. He’s coming off one of his more impressive seasons. Allen was able to reduce the number of turnovers he had last season greatly and had another 40-plus touchdowns. He also led the Bills to a record of 13-4 and won the AFC East for the 5th year in a row.
Last season was one of his most consistent seasons yet, as he was able to put on great performances every week. He was able to perform even after losing his WR 1 in the offseason and having an alright supporting cast. Allen had to put on the cape and make play after play to keep his team in the mix. This season, the Bills gave him an extension, and they signed a few more depth pieces to the offense. With more weapons added from the offseason and Allen getting paid, fans can expect another MVP-caliber season from Him.

Lamar Jackson from the Baltimore Ravens put up a historic season last year. He broke the record for most rushing yards by a quarterback ever and led the Ravens to another AFC North title. He also finished in the top 5 in passing yards and tied for first in total TDs with 45. Lamar has Derrick Henry on the offense with him, who’s an all-time great running back. Henry was able to open up the offense and really unlock Lamar’s rushing game. He’s also got one-time Pro Bowler Zay Flowers at WR, who broke 1,000 yards last season. Not only does he have all these weapons, but he also has the best TE room in the league. Baltimore’s offense was ranked in the top 3 last year, and it’s only inevitable that they keep dominating with Lamar.

He threw for 4,900 yards, which led the entire NFL. He was also tied with Lamar for the most total touchdowns in the NFL. He had to put the team on his back because he had the worst defense in the entire NFL. Burrow has the reigning triple crown winner Jamar Chase, who’s considered the best WR in the league. He’s also got Tee Higgins at WR2, who is elite as well. Burrow absolutely tore up opposing defenses as he led the Bengals to 27.8 points per game, which was 6th best in the NFL. The one thing that held Burrow back in 2024 was his defense. The defense was historically terrible, and if they had won a few more games, Burrow would probably have won the MVP.

He’s coming off one of the best running back seasons we have ever seen. Barkley had 2,005 rushing yards, which is just 100 yards shy of the record set by Eric Dickerson in 1984. Only 19 players have ever recorded a 2,000-yard season, and he was on pace to break the record. He also had 13 rushing touchdowns and two receiving touchdowns. The touchdowns seem a little underwhelming, but he gets limited carries on the goal line because of Jalen Hurts and the tush push. Barkley was also one of the most exciting players to watch last season. He would make 50-yard runs look easy and routine.
He also came in clutch during the playoffs. Barkley was a key component in the Eagles’ playoff run. He dominated the line of scrimmage and made defenders look lost. He played a significant role in the Eagles’ divisional playoff game, setting the Eagles’ single-game rushing record with 205 yards. He did this in the middle of a snowstorm, which makes it even more impressive. He also set the tone during the NFC championship as he took the first play of the game for a touchdown. Barkley had a monstrous season last year, and he will definitely be looking to break that record.

If his defense can hold the Bengals’ opponents to a reasonable amount of points this season, then Burrow and the Bengals offense will dominate and win many more games. Burrow aims to compete for a playoff spot and potentially a deep playoff run. If everything clicks for him, then I have no doubt he will be able to win MVP.
